Couples therapy does not require any special skills, and you do not have to be able to speak in a particular way. You decide and you set the agenda. Together, we create a safe space in which change can happen, a space where perhaps for the first time in a long time there is trust and time to listen to and be heard by each other.
Couples therapy without your partner
If you are curious about couples therapy but cannot persuade your partner to come the first time, it is possible to come alone. The one partner in the couple is being helped is better than neither partner is being helped. It is also possible that the partner who chose to stay home can chat to me over the phone.
Experience suggests that couples benefit most from therapy when they have session every two weeks. If you are to get the most out of therapy, it is important that we speak regularly for a period until you feel better equipped to tackle the problems.
Online therapy & evening therapy
If it is difficult to find the time or you live a long way away from Copenhagen, online therapy is a possibility. It can be during the day or in the evening once the children have been put to bed and there is time to talk. I have plenty of positive experience with this form of therapy, and it can sometimes be the best solution for people with busy lives.
I have particular experience of counselling people who identify as polyamorous/non-monogamous, kinky, BDSM practitioners, swingers, sex workers, and LGBTQIA+. All adults whose sexual and personal practice is based on informed consent and mutual respect are welcome.
