Individual therapy

You do not have live with anxiety, depression, self-harm. Throughout their lives, many people experience shock or trauma as a result of overwhelming experiences or long-term stress. Embarking on a course of therapy is the first step towards feeling better and being better able to recognise your emotions and how and why you behave as you do. Once you are more aware of these patterns, it becomes easier to work on them and gives the possibility to change your life.

Individual therapy is based on respect for you and your choices. I place a strong emphasis on helping you find your resources and your options for change. These resources can support you and help you to grow into self-acceptance and give you the power to act on this knowledge.

 

You do not need any special skills or knowledge before embarking on a course of therapy, and you do not need to be able to speak in a particular way. We start where you are.

 

The therapy takes place at Ryesgade 57 in lovely light rooms and session lasts 1.5 hours, which ensures that there is plenty of time to talk and reflect.

How often

Experience demonstrates that it is a good idea to have a session every 3 to 4 weeks for a period. In order to get the most out of your therapy, it is important that the time between sessions is not too long. Otherwise it can be difficult to remember what happened from session to session, and this hinders consistency in the process. This is my recommendation, but obviously the choice is yours.

 

Online Therapy and Therapy in the evening

If you live outside Denmark, a long way from Copenhagen, or need to meet in the evening, therapy over the phone or online is an option. Couples’ therapy also works well online.

 

Special experience

I have particular experience of counselling people who identify as polyamorous/non-monogamous, kinky, BDSM practitioners, swingers, sex workers, and LGBTQIA+. All adults whose sexual and personal practice is based on informed consent and mutual respect are welcome.
